What
was always meant to be a temporary home for the gallery
in the 58th Street apartment stretched into a period
of over 5 years. By the Spring of 2006, the relocation
of the gallery to a more practical, commercial space
became imperative. Our exhibition program during the
latter months of 2006 was suspended. In January 2007,
the gallery reopened on the fifth floor of the magnificent
1949 Parke-Bernet Galleries Building at 980 Madison
Avenue, once called the "Grand Central Terminal
of the art world." |

The
10-year lease at 375 West Broadway ended in September
2000. After months of searching for an appropriate commercial
situation, the gallery relocated to an apartment on the
21st floor of 58 West 58th Street. Situated directly behind
the 57th-Street galleries between 5th and 6th Avenues,
it proved to be an excellent venue in which to continue
presenting Gemini publications. |

Gemini
G.E.L. at Joni Moisant Weyl was founded in May 1984. It
began on a "by appointment only" basis in a
loft located at 55 Crosby Street in Soho. From 1984 to
1990, there were no scheduled exhibitions presented.
In the Fall of 1990, the gallery began a 10-year period
at 375 West Broadway. |
